Join the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Semilla Cultural in a vibrant celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with Bomba in the Square! 🎶 Dive into the rich Afro-Puerto Rican tradition of Bomba, a dynamic dance and music style dating back to the 17th century! 🥁🎵The event takes place at FAM, located at historic Market Square (907 Princess Anne Street) on Sunday, October 1st, from 4 pm – 5:30 pm.
Featuring a 30-minute percussion and song class, a 40-minute dance lesson with live music, and a thrilling 20-minute bomba jam session, this event guarantees to be a feast of culture, rhythm, and unity! 💃
All are welcome to this family-friendly event! Just wear comfy shoes and be ready to groove! Instruments will be provided, but you can bring your own drums, cuás (wooden sticks), and/or maracas! 🥁
