Fredericksburg, Va., resident Huntley, 33, made a memorable mark on “The Voice” during the recent episode, earning a coveted four-chair turn from celebrity coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Niall Horan. Huntley, a single father of two, showcased his exceptional talent with a rendition of The Black Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels.”

Reba McEntire led the admiration, expressing, “Your voice is incredible. How long have you been singing?” To which Huntley responded, “Probably my whole life.” He went on to share, “I used to practice like I was Elvis and tell my parents, and I had no idea why.” Reba continued, “I heard Chris Stapleton in there. I’m a huge fan of Chris, and that’s a huge compliment to you. Everything about your voice I absolutely loved. I’d love to be your coach.”

Niall Horan also vied for Huntley to join his team, drawing parallels between Huntley’s tone and the likes of artists like Daniel Merriweather and James Morrison. Niall emphasized the emotional impact of Huntley’s performance, stating, “You made us feel. That’s a really important thing.”

Gwen Stefani, with her characteristic charm, highlighted her connection to Huntley’s distinctive style, saying, “If anything, you should pick me because I used to wear my hair like that.” She praised Huntley’s vocal prowess and comfort on stage, adding, “You’re just very comfortable. I wondered what other kinds of songs that you would do on this show?” Huntley responded, “I really do anything from reggae to rock to pop to R&B. Music is just something that really comes from my soul.”

John Legend, offering his perspective, said, “Your voice has so much polish. It sounds like you’ve been on big stages before.” He commended Huntley’s readiness for the music industry, noting, “Your voice sounds so ready. It’s so ready for the world, ready for the radio, and truly one of the best voices we’ve heard.”

After heartfelt deliberation and with the coaches’ encouragement, Huntley asked if he could bring his 6-year-old daughter, Stella, on stage to help him make the decision. With Stella by his side, they ultimately chose Team Niall.

Niall Horan, thrilled to have secured a four-chair turn, remarked, “With Huntley’s tone, he can do whatever he wants. He has so much character to his voice. He’s a really exciting prospect for this competition.”

In his video package, Huntley shared his journey, revealing that music had been his anchor since his father disappeared when he was just 8 years old. His love for music led him to start a metal band at the age of 14, eventually transitioning to the acoustic guitar. Huntley’s musical pursuits brought him to Nashville at 19, and after facing challenges, he returned to Virginia, where he became a dedicated father. He now balances performing and working as a booking agent to support his family.

Huntley’s motivation to succeed in music is driven by his desire to provide for his children. He reflected on the auditions, saying, “I think the scariest thing is just not getting chairs turned. If that happened, to face my daughter afterwards… but I know she’s proud that I’m here in general. I’ve just gotten a lot of no’s, and it would be really good for once in my life to get a yes.”

Well, on this memorable night, Huntley got four yeses, securing his place on Team Niall. You can watch his captivating audition on “The Voice” Facebook page here.
