The Taliban has reportedly requested passage from several Middle Eastern nations to join Hamas in its campaign against Israel.

On Saturday, the Taliban stated it has approached Iran, Iraq, and Jordan for permission to aid the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, in its effort to “conquer Jerusalem,” as per the Jerusalem Post.

Some on social media highlighted the Taliban’s strengthened position in the Middle East, attributing it to the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. This withdrawal resulted in an estimated $86 billion worth of military equipment being left behind, which the Taliban has since acquired.

“And now they have $86,000,000,000.00 in pristine US equipment to use against Israel because our leadership was so negligent they left vast amounts of M-4s, Humvees, night vision, etc. I’m really glad the ‘adults’ are now in control,” Trump stated on X.

Moreover, last month’s decision by the Biden administration to release $6 billion in previously frozen funds to Iran, a significant supporter of Hamas, during a prisoner exchange, has also been criticized.

“Regrettably, U.S. taxpayer money appears to have contributed to these attacks, with indications pointing to the Biden Administration. We had brought significant peace to the Middle East with the Abraham Accords, only to witness Biden erode it faster than anticipated. Here we are again,” Trump commented on Truth Social.

Furthermore, the Biden administration had initially asked Israel to hold back its defense against the ongoing Hamas assault. However, this statement was swiftly removed.
