Always Flavored is a bistro and gourmet sandwich shop that started back in 2020 when Rita Witte began selling her homemade sauces and seasonings. After her sauces received significant acclaim, she opened her first brick-and-mortar location in November 2022. They’re all about using their special sauces and seasonings to make anything but ordinary sandwiches. What sets them apart? They ferment their sauces for the best possible taste and nutrition. Plus, they’re committed to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Rita had wanted to own a restaurant since she was 11 years old and had worked as a restaurant general manager for most of her career. She realized that a fresh, quick-service sandwich shop would better serve the community than a full-service restaurant. As of 2022, Witte accomplished her childhood goal of owning a restaurant and is excited to give back to the Fredericksburg community.

Always Flavored is growing and is planning a move to a larger space at 619 Caroline St in early spring 2025.
